Ammonium perchlorate (AP) is an oxidizer that is primarily used as a key component in solid rocket propellant. It is used in the aerospace, national defense and commercial sectors. American Pacific’s production of aerospace-grade AP in the 1950’s in Nevada, U.S., utilizing a proprietary process of electrolytic oxidation, crystallization, screening and blending that yields a chromate-free product.
